Saturday Night Live performer Jeremy Culhane debuted his impression of Elon Musk during the latest episode, portraying the Tesla and SpaceX CEO as an awkward individual struggling to connect with the Weekend Update hosts. The show has previously mocked the billionaire, with Mike Myers appearing in past segments to mutter “Glitch!” while wielding a chainsaw.

Culhane’s portrayal focuses on a character desperate for approval following a week of negative news, including the CEO’s reported half a billion dollars in election spending and plans to pause Cybertruck production. During the sketch, the performer attempts to deflect from his setbacks by mentioning, “My car did a flip!”
Weekend Update co-host Colin Jost questioned the tech mogul regarding his move to Texas, noting that he relocated his companies and built a town there to avoid taxes and escape Democratic leadership. Jost asked, “You moved to Texas because California was run by Democrats. You moved all your companies to Texas because you didn’t want to pay taxes. You even built your own town in Texas. And now Texas is run by Democrats. Now you’re going to have to pay taxes. So how does that make you feel?” Culhane’s character simply replied, “Bad?”
To demonstrate a sense of humour, the character asked his chatbot Grok to provide “an epic vulgar roast of me, Elon Musk.” The AI responded by calling him “the worst thing South Africa has ever done” and suggested, “Maybe if you have 100 more kids, one of them will talk to you.”
The programme has featured several satires of tech executives this season, including Jane Wickline’s portrayal of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei as a stuttering prophet of AI doom. Additionally, James Austin Johnson caricatured Kevin O’Leary, who remarked on data centre backlash by stating, “All I want is to buy up 40,000 acres of God’s untouched splendor and replace it with a very loud computer that steals your job.”
