A memo that circulated earlier this year alleges that technology executive Alice Huang was recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security to spy on Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang, as reported by several media outlets.

The New York Times, which earlier noted that Jensen Huang had been targeted by Chinese intelligence, was the first outlet to publish the memo, saying it derived from U.S. intelligence. The Financial Times later said the memo also suggested a romantic link between Jensen Huang and Alice Huang, an executive at the Singapore‑based firm Megaspeed.
Nvidia’s spokesperson told the New York Times that Jensen Huang’s dealings with Alice Huang were “not unusual,” and that the company does not share classified information with its customers.
A separate New York Times report examined New Matrix, a Chinese company cleared by the U.S. Commerce Department to buy advanced Nvidia chips, but reporters found only “a hollow gray shell,” at the address listed, raising doubts it might be a front for a blacklisted private‑equity firm. The Nvidia spokesperson added that the firm sells “the first, best and most of our technology in America.”
