Apple says iPhone Duo has over 100,000 optimized apps

Apple has announced that more than 100,000 applications have been specifically built for the iPhone Duo, just two weeks after the device officially went on sale. The company confirmed that these optimised apps are now available on the App Store.

“It’s been wonderful to see how quickly developers have embraced iPhone Duo, and we’re grateful for their creativity and innovation,” Susan Prescott, Apple’s VP of Worldwide Developer Relations, says in a statement. She noted that thousands more are being added to the platform daily, adding, “The enthusiasm has been incredible, and we’re excited to see the pace of updates continue to accelerate as more and more apps optimize for iPhone Duo.”

Despite the high number of optimised applications, some software still experiences performance issues. When the device launched, users reported that the Instagram app appeared messy despite receiving the “Made for iPhone Duo” label. Consequently, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri described the iPhone Duo as a “bit of a tricky form factor.”
