The loss came after the Magpies were eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Everton and have recorded only two wins in their previous seven outings, which also included defeats to Leeds United, Coventry City and Aston Villa. Jaissle, 38, said he does not track written commentary closely but occasionally receives remarks. "I try to not follow things that are written but here and there you get some comments," he told reporters, adding that the internal sense of commitment is vital amid speculation.
"The nice part is that I got more of a feeling from within the club about how committed they are and that is something really important in a week where there is speculation or rumours." He said it was reassuring but he tries not to be distracted by such aspects.
The manager, who succeeded Eddie Howe in the summer, criticised his squad for not adhering to the plan after the Everton defeat. Ahead of the upcoming match at Fulham on Saturday at 15:00 GMT, he expressed confidence that the players are united and clear on his ideas. "Yes, for sure.
That is always good to see. That is the fundamental thing in the process at the moment that we can count on is the unity and togetherness," Jaissle said. He praised the group's relationship and said the door remains open for discussion, noting, "We have such a good group and such a good relationship already that again, the door is always open and if anything is unclear they are more than welcome to talk about it." Observing training sessions, he added, "When you see them in training and see how we are doing, I am pretty sure that everyone understands and are fully committed."
