England fast bowler Josh Tongue will miss the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia because of a toe injury. The 28-year-old sustained the damage while in Pakistan last month, forcing him to sit out the final two fixtures of that tri-series.

According to reports, the cricketer is travelling back to the UK for further medical assessment. He will consequently be unavailable for the one-day and T20 matches in Australia, beginning with an ODI in Perth on 13 November.
Tongue, who has secured 46 wickets across 17 games this year, is expected to return for the three-match Test series in South Africa this December. Officials are scheduled to announce the Test squad next week.
This white-ball tour represents England’s first visit to Australia since the 2025-26 Ashes series. Coach Brendon McCullum previously stated his intention to field a strong side for the ODI leg to prepare for next year’s World Cup in southern Africa.
The coach also admitted that he will need to rotate his players for the T20 matches, citing the demands of a busy winter featuring five separate overseas tours.
