On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, one crore 4 lakh 94 thousand 83 mobile SIM users have left Dhaka till Thursday (July 22). On the other hand, only 6 lakh 20 thousand 517 mobile connection users returned to Dhaka the day after Eid.

Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar confirmed the information to Jago News on Friday (July 23) night.

He said, ‘I got the account of the SIMs coming and going from Dhaka a little while ago. It is not unbelievable that one crore 4 lakh 94 thousand 73 mobile SIM subscribers have left Dhaka till July 22. But, on the other hand, only 6 lakh 20 thousand 518 SIMs returned to Dhaka the day after Eid.

He added, “It remains to be seen what will happen after the lockdown starting today.” It remains to be seen what effect this will have on Corona. However, this is not an account of people coming and going outside Dhaka. Because one person has many SIMs, some families have more members, but mobile and SIM is one or two. ‘

Meanwhile, according to official data, Grameenphone is at the top in terms of mobile phone connectivity. The number of their connections is eight crores 75 lakh. Robi has five crores 19 lakh 40 thousand links, which is the second place. On the other hand, Banglalink is in third place. The number of their relationships is three crores 82 lakh 50 thousand. The number of Teletalk connections is 56 lakh 58 thousand.
