A rocket fired from Gaza killed two Israelis and wounded six others

Two Israelis have been killed in a rocket attack by the Palestinian armed resistance movement Hamas. A rocket fired from Gaza killed two Israelis in the Israeli city of Ashkelon on Tuesday (May 11th).

A report in Al Jazeera, citing a report in the Israeli newspaper Harejat, said two Palestinians had been killed and six others wounded in a rocket attack from Gaza.

The rocket fired by Hamas damaged several Israeli installations, the AFP news agency reported. Among them were an apartment in the town of Ashkelon and a house in the Beit Nekofa area.

Earlier, Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip killed at least 24 people, including nine children. Another 106 people were injured.

Israel attacked the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday, the day of Jumatul Bidar. More than 300 people were injured in the attack. Hamas responded by firing rockets at Israel in protest. A series of Israeli airstrikes killed 24 Palestinians and wounded 107 others.

Hamas fired more than 200 rockets as part of Operation Al-Quds Sword.
