A stone trader named Nur-e-Alif (30) was killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a motorcycle at Domar in Nilphamari.
According to local sources, the accident took place at around 3 pm on Tuesday (May 11) at Barai Bagan near Boragari Bridge on Domar-Dimla Road.
The deceased was identified as Nur-e-Alif, son of late Abdul Quader of Kamar Para area in Devnagar union of Tetulia upazila of Panchagarh district. He trades in stones.
It is learned that on the way to Rangpur from Domar with his friend Mostafa (30) on a motorcycle from his home in Nur-e-Alif, a microbus was heading towards Domar from Gomnati (Dhaka Metro-Ch-51-060). In fact there are face-to-face clashes.
The on-duty doctor declared Alif dead as the locals took him to the Upazila Health Complex as he was seriously injured in the incident. Upon receiving the news, the police of Domar police station recovered the body and brought it to the police station. The microbus was seized but the driver escaped. Domar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the incident and said the body was handed over to the family as there was no complaint. The seized microbus has been kept at the police station.
